Beverly
W. Stephens
Beverly West Stephens joined Floyd, Pflueger
& Ringer, P.S. in the summer of 2010. She is a civil litigator
who has practiced since 2001, including three years as an Assistant
City Attorney in San Antonio, Texas, where she represented the police
and fire departments in contract, employment, construction and negotiating
collective bargaining agreements.
In private practice, Beverly has defended school districts and
other public entities in a broad range of matters, as well as representing
individuals in discrimination and medical malpractice suits. While
defending a community college district in San Antonio, Beverly argued
a discrimination suit before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals
in New Orleans, Louisiana. Beverly moved to Seattle in 2008, where
she has been defending public entities and other clients in discrimination,
employment, negligence, construction, land use and utility cases.
Beverly earned her Juris Doctor from the St. Mary’s University
School of Law in San Antonio, Texas. She was the Symposium Editor
of St. Mary’s Law Journal, Vol. 32, From the Schoolhouse to
the Courthouse. She was invited to join the International Legal
Fraternity Phi Delta Phi. Before attending St. Mary’s, Beverly
graduated from the University of North Texas cum laude, studying
Political Science and English.
In addition to her state court practice in Washington and Texas,
Beverly is admitted to the federal courts of both the Western and
Eastern District of Washington. She is a member of the Washington
State Bar and King County Bar Association. Beverly is still an active
member of the Texas Bar and is admitted to the Western and Southern
District of Texas.
Beverly has two adult children and lives in Issaquah, on Tiger Mountain,
with her husband, Robert. Beverly enjoys running, playing with her
Boston Terriers, and Texas football.
