Francis
S. Floyd
Francis S. Floyd has been a civil trial lawyer
in Washington and Alaska since 1978. He is the President of Floyd,
Pflueger & Ringer, P.S., which he founded in 1991.
Francis' recent cases emphasize the defense of insureds and self-insureds
in large loss, complex litigation in the Northwest. Francis also
monitors and litigates large exposure, catastrophic losses in Washington,
Alaska, Oregon, Idaho and California. He has been lead counsel in
cases relating to the Exxon-Valdez oil spill, the Kingdome roof
failure, the sinking of the I-90 bridge, the Bellingham pipeline
explosion and, most recently, the Grant County public defense class
action lawsuit. He has tried over 100 civil jury trials, involving
all types of complex litigation, including serious personal injury
and wrongful death, product defect, pharmacy law, intellectual property
litigation, construction law, professional malpractice, and civil
rights and employment litigation.
Francis has an AV Peer Review rating in the Martindale-Hubbell
and has been selected the last 6 years as a Washington Super Lawyer
in the areas of Insurance Defense: Commercial and Construction Law.
Francis is a member of all state and federal Washington and Alaska
courts, the United States Supreme Court, various tribal courts,
the Defense Research Institute and the Northwest Indian Bar Association.
Francis graduated with college honors, cum laude, and Phi Beta
Kappa from the University of Washington in 1975, and Willamette
University College of Law in 1978.
A lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest, he enjoys tennis,
downhill skiing, and sea kayaking.
